Family Safety

Protection that respects them.

Most parental controls watch children. Jagraaj protects them — with safety built into the server, consent required before an account can even exist, and rules written in exactly one place.

Supervision is care. Surveillance is not.

A parent can approve who their child connects with and see how much they're sharing. A parent cannot read their child's private messages — and neither can we. Safety shouldn't cost a child their dignity.

One rulebook, three ages

Age is classified once, in a single policy module, and every part of the app obeys it. There is no second place where the rules could quietly disagree.

Child

No self sign-up. A parent creates and manages a supervised account — a child never registers alone.

Parent-created only

Teen

May join only with verifiable parental consent. The account stays inert until a guardian approves it, and protective limits are locked on.

Full access to sharing, discovery, location and presence — each of them opt-in, never assumed.

Full, opt-in

Consent before activation

The Digital Personal Data Protection standard, built into sign-up itself — not bolted on afterward.

  1. Sign up

A neutral date of birth is asked at registration — no “are you 13?” checkbox to shrug past.

  2. Parent notified

A teen gives a guardian's email. A secure approval link is sent; nothing else happens yet.

  3. Inert account

The account cannot log in or hold data. It simply waits — safely doing nothing.

  4. Guardian approves

One tap activates it. We record who consented, when, and to which policy version.

  5. Or it's deleted

No approval in 7 days, or consent withdrawn anytime → the account and all its data are erased.

Locked on for every minor

Each protection is enforced at the API — the point where data actually moves — so it holds no matter which screen, app, or shortcut a request comes from.

No public posting

Memories reach friends only, or stay private. The public feed is not a choice.

Invisible to strangers

Minors don't surface in search to anyone who isn't already a friend.

Location off — and locked

Location sharing can't be switched on for a minor account.

Presence hidden

Online status and last-seen are off and locked, at the socket and the friends list.

Friend requests, approved

New connections can require a guardian's yes before they're made.

No shortcut invites

Album codes and invites still route through the age and consent gate.
